The home-school law states that the portfolio shall include a
"LOG, MADE CONTEMPORANEOUSLY WITH THE INSTRUCTION, WHICH DESIGNATES BY TITLE THE READING MATERIALS USED..." See law

The log is simply a record of what your student has done and when. A log for an elementary student should document 180 days or 900 hours of instruction, and a log for a secondary student (7-12) should document 180 days or 990 hours of instruction.

By using our links below, you can access daily, weekly, or monthly FREE log sheets. We have formatted them to open with Word, WordPerfect, or PDF.
For the Word and WordPerfect documents, you need to FIRST save the files to your computer and then open to fill in your log using your computer.
If you print the PDF files, you'll be filling the sheets in by hand. If you have Internet Explorer and are having difficulty opening the file, right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As." Once the PDF is saved to the computer you will be able to open the file without any difficulty.

If you print out 36 copies of the weekly log, you'll have the log ready for the entire year. Enter the name of your student and the textbook titles before printing to save time. This way you won't have to write it in each week.
