| If you have been looking for something for your home-schooled student that qualifies as music education and haven’t
been able to find just the perfect program yet, keep reading!
We are looking for musically-gifted, home-educated singers who are interested in singing in a small-group atmosphere. Our focus is in using our vocal ensemble for music education; but, also, to provide an experience and opportunity for students to use their music to witness as well as minister the joy and love of Jesus to others. We have had students coming to classes in Hatfield from Philadelphia, Norristown, Plumsteadville, Doylestown, Perkasie, Telford, Sellersville, Souderton, Boyertown, Harleysville, Hatfield, Lansdale, Collegeville, Audubon, Pennsburg, Green Lane, Pottstown, Quakertown and Fleetwood. We are now accepting applications for students interested in joining our choirs (based in Bucks/Montgomery County area) for the Fall 2007 session. Class fees are $10 per student for each 45-minute class. Please contact us if you are interested or have other questions!
Our One Voice Vocal Ensemble classes for home-schoolers are structured like group voice lessons. We teach breathing and vocal exercises, work on 2- and 3- part harmony songs, and encourage our students to learn a solo piece which is either chosen or approved by the director. |
||
Our purpose is to encourage young people who have a desire to sing and use their God-given talent for ministry and for the glory of God. Each week we gather and sing praise and worship choruses as a group; and then we have the additional blessing of listening to God-honoring, uplifting solos sung by other ensemble members. The soloists are encouraged by the support and kind words of their fellow vocalists. |

We have accepted students ranging in ages from eight to eighteen years. The participants of our ensemble members are most commonly between ages fourteen and eighteen. Classes are approximately seventy minutes long and meet once a week. These classes are divided into two semesters: fall/winter session, winter/spring session. At the beginning of each session, non-refundable class fees are collected. This has provided a very stable, workable program for the group. At the end of each session students may terminate their participation, if necessary, in the ensemble. At the end of each session (twice a year) the One Voice Vocal Ensemble and the One Voice Handbell Choirs gather together and perform a choral concert to which family, friends, and the general public are invited. These concerts have always proven to be uplifting, encouraging, inspirational, and evangelistic in nature due to the types of solos and praise/worship songs that our ensmeble members sing.

"The first thing I noticed about the One Voice Vocal Ensemble is that it encourages everyone to get comfortable singing solos in front of each other, and then in front of a large crowd. That's something I never experienced in other choral groups, so I guess that's why it stood out to me. I also appreciate the great talent in each of the students in the One Voice Ensemble. Their ability to harmonize is amazing." "You know, I saw how so many people were blessed by the music at the (recent) One Voice Winter Concert, and I know it blessed my heart and encouraged me."
Our students tell us that our classes are the highlight of their week, and we often hear moans and groans when we have to miss a week due to a holiday. When we have our summer break, our students tell us they are "absolutely dying" for classes to begin again in September. This warms our hearts as directors, as our goal is not only to provide a quality program for our students, but also a happy, rewarding experience they will never forget.
